Courtney Tiffany is a writer and entrepreneur, based in Arizona, who is on a mission to help women deepen their connection with the Divine. After signing up to the ecourse in September 2020, she launched her Goddess Affirmations Oracle Deck in December. Courtney went from having the idea and content for her deck, to having a clear path forward on how to make it happen, which she did!
Can you share a little about the inspiration behind the deck and why you wanted to create it?
My inspiration behind the deck all started on my Instagram page. I love all things goddesses, and diving into their different energies. I knew each of them had different messages for me to learn, so I started sharing little affirmations from various goddesses on my Instagram page, it was so well received (I shared 15 affirmations) that I decided to turn it into an oracle deck. I personally own a few goddess oracle decks, but nothing that included my love of affirmations. Affirmations have been a tremendous help to me personally, allowing me to stop tearing myself down, having doubts, being my own worst critic, and learning to love myself just as I am. So it made sense I combine them both.
In what stage of the process were you before joining the course?
Before I joined the course I had the affirmations written down and the guidebook written, that was it. I had no idea how to go about designing the cards myself.
What decisions did the course help you with?
The course helped me take my idea and turn it into reality. I had never heard of the availbale creative resources and once I found the aesthetic I liked, I was able to put it all together. I already had a printer in mind through another indie oracle deck artist.
What was the most valuable takeaway for you?
The biggest takeaway was realizing I could actually publish an oracle deck on my own. I had talked to an artist prior to enrolling about commissioning her and it was heartbreaking thinking I would be spending thousands of dollars before ever putting the deck together. The Oracle Creator allowed me to see I could be cost effective and still create a product I’m proud of.
Is there anything that surprised you about the process so far?
It surprised me how easy it is to create an oracle deck! I found an affordable graphic designer on fiverr to create a box for me. I already had a formatter I worked with to publish my book, and she put the guidebook together for me. And I created the cards!
Would you like to share any plans for future card decks?
I don’t have any current plans to publish another deck at the moment, as I am currently writing and publishing two new books, that will be out later this year. But I do have plans to re-release my oracle deck in Summer 2021.
